RESTORATIVE + YOGA NIDRA

Journey into stillness with a practice to heal, restore and rejuvenate. A special Tuesday evening class to help you let go of effort, de-stress and allow for optimal wellness.
This is a very therapeutic practice that promotes deep relaxation with the aid of props. In this practice the lights are dimmed, the room is warm and layers and socks are encouraged.
Each 60 minute class will allow you to turn inward to provide a deeply nourishing release for anyone, new to yoga or not – including those nursing injuries and anyone pregnant. This is the most restful class on the schedule.
You’ll practice super gentle movement (all floor based) along with Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) to discover space and stillness in the body and mind.
Yoga props will help you to find comfort, ease and opening. Repair wear and tear, balance your mood and blood chemistry.
Restorative Yoga is known to improve your body’s capacity for healing and balance.
Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is the most gentle of yoga practices where you simply lie on your back in corpse pose (called Savasana in Sanskrit).
Each Yoga Nidra practice will follow a different theme and intention and often include gentle pranayama (breath work), visualisation and a rotation of consciousness (often around the sacred journey of your body) to take you towards a serene, blissful state.
Yoga Nidra not only helps you to recognise your more subtle energies, but also promotes deep rest and wellbeing. It can help you remain calm, need less sleep, and sharpen your mind and creativity long after practicing it.
Just 20 minutes of Yoga Nidra has been shown to equate to two hours of sleep.

This class runs immediately after Yin Yoga, giving you the option of two classes back-to-back on this evening. If you are just attending Restorative + Yoga Nidra, please enter quietly and wait in the reception area for Yin Yoga class to finish, before entering the studio to set up and settle in.
Please book in advance. Classes are open to all levels. Modifications, props and gentle hands-on assisting will be given to meet you where you’re at when in studio. Yin Yoga classes are suitable for pregnancy. Please pre-book your class by contacting Simone. Upon arrival, enter through the first door on your left as you walk down the driveway. You are welcome to park off the road down the bottom of the drive so the entry will be your last door on the right as you walk up the driveway. Look for the Yoga Spirit signage to guide you. Doors will 5-10 minutes before class. All equipment is provided. BYO mat is recommended. No mobile phones on and please respect your fellow yogi's by keeping noise to a minimum. Pre-pay cash or internet banking only.
