Spring Yin + Sound Bath – with Lavender Rose Elixir
Yoga Spirit’s next monthly experience is here!.
Simone is coming together with guests Leaf and Drugo once again to offer a Yin Yoga and sonic healing experience – this time a Spring infused practice to activate the healthy movement of Qi and keep you in flow.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Wood is the energy of Spring – it’s an uplifting, dynamic energy that enables new growth and new life. When our Wood energy is balanced, it reawakens us after the stillness of Winter and helps us to be flexible – like bamboo. If not, we can feel sluggish, grumpy and possibly a bit frustrated about the change of season.
The all-levels Yin Yoga practice will focus on the Liver and Gallbladder meridians, the two pathways related to bringing your Wood energy back into balance. And this practice will be held in the loving ethereal sounds from traditional instruments from around the world, including; didgeridoo, handpan, chimes, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, traditional flute, Shaman drum, and rain stick.
To help you drop into the experience, you are invited to enjoy a cup of lavender and rose elixir. Lavender is unique in that its relaxing mood enhancing effects can be felt almost immediately. Together with uplifting and nourishing rose its the perfect accompaniment to drop into your feminine Yin side.
The lavender plant for the elixir is sourced from Leaf and Drugo’s organic farm in Whanganui, the rose is a heritage rose from Italy – the tea will be carefully hand prepared with natural spring water.
The experience will be lit by fairy lights as the night falls upon us, with the energy cleansing plant of Palo Santo burning.
All equipment is provided (mat, blanket, and block). However you are welcome to extra BYO props for your comfort.
This experience is held at the Yoga Spirit studio space (Aramoho Rowing Club) on the Whanganui river front with uninterrupted views to the Awa. Parking on the riverbank is possible.
Please wear comfy clothing you can move in. The space will be nicely warmed. Bring layers you can put on or take off to suit.

Benefits of sound healing:
Sound or vibration is at the core of all life, without these vibrations the Earth and the Universe would not exist. Vibration is about connecting to what makes us human.
Vibration is known to have the power to alleviate physical pain and shift emotional and psychological states, bringing about increased access to healing, harmony and connection. It encompasses the OM. It refers to Atman (soul) and Braham (ultimate reality, truth, divine). Science is now proving it’s healing affects on a range of illnesses and disease.
Amongst the sound on offer by Leaf and Drugo, two talented local musicians, will be original Sanskrit mantras and chants – the powerful language of yoga and the Bhakti tradition, handed down over the centuries as healing medicine for all.
